Interns will work closely with the Applied Technology Program in the fields of AIT (Automated Industrial Technology), CAD (Computer Aided Design), Machining, and Welding.
Potential Activities include:
- Design and manufacture an efficient solar oven.
- Use Current Designs to determine best practices to cook various types of food.
- Conduct research with a Markforged Field Edition X7 3D printer. This printer is designed to go anywhere and run off battery and solar power.
- Interns will put the printer through a rigorous testing process to determine the limits of its abilities and use it to rapid-prototype the solar oven design.
- Interns will also attend the Markforged University and earn their certificate in Certified Additive Expert Composite.
